Lions is kindness in action. When caring people roll up their sleeves to serve, communities grow stronger. For 84 years, the Poulsbo Lions have supported North Kitsap — from vision & hearing to picking up litter, flags, laundry service and supporting the local food banks. Debbie Mansell, immediate past district governor of Lions and a guest at our meeting yesterday, gave our Poulsbo Lion Pat Burch a gold pin he earned by donating $200/month to Lions International.
Our vision screening team finished October strong! On Oct. 25, Lions Karen Reitan, Laurie Sarver, David DeMazo and Steve Calhoun went to the Island School on Bainbridge. They screened the eyes of 16 kindergartners and kids new to the school. There was only 1 referral.
This autumnal photo was taken in Kingston by Jolly Sienda of Jolly Sienda Photography. It's featured on our 2023 NK Photo Calendar, which reminds me - 2024 Lions calendars are on sale NOW!
Lions Gretchen and Terry will be in front of Bad Blanche Friday, Nov. 3, from 2-4 pm, and Terry will also be at the NK Holiday Fest Nov. 4 and 5 at North Kitsap High School. Calendars are $10 each and raise funds for things like eye exams, eyeglasses, hearing aids, our laundromat program for the needy, and so much more!
One of the social events we look forward to is our Steak Night every October. You get a nice, big steak a Lion grills for you, a baked potato, salad and dessert. This year, Lion Sherri Burch arranged a trivia game called Cash Cab! Lots of fun.

Once again Poulsbo Lions are asking for your support! This time it's in the form of our 2024 NK Photo Calendars. Talented photographers from around our area have submitted beautiful photos you will enjoy each month when you buy a $10 calendar. These make excellent stocking stuffers too.
Look for our calendars Nov. 3 from 2-4 pm in front of Bad Blanche. Lions Terry Blais and Gretchen Dunmire will be on hand, and you can pay with cash or credit card.
Lion Terry will also be at North Kitsap High for the NK Holiday Fest Nov. 4 and 5. Again, you can buy calendars with cash or credit.
Thanks in advance for your support! We couldn't do what we do without YOU.
Look for Lions Karl and Steve to be there. They'll have some of our beautiful 2024 NK Photo Calendars for sale ($10/each).
We need your help to make our 2024 NK Photo Calendar fund-raiser successful! Calendars are $10 each - and all proceeds go right back into our community to purchase things like eye exams, eyeglasses, hearing aids, provide laundromat service for the unhoused and low-income, etc.
