Puhn celebrates birthday at Steak Night event

Poulsbo Lions celebrated Scott Puhn's birthday (pictured here with his wife, Bev) at tonight's Steak Night event in Port Gamble... An annual dinner. Lions throw steaks on the grill and enjoy salad and baked potatoes with all the fixin's. It's always a good time!

 

No meeting Thursday

No meeting this Thursday because it's our favorite Steak Night in Port Gamble. Next up, we have vision screening at Silverwood School on Oct. 29 and at Vinland

And we're collecting new stuffed animals for kids at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital! You can drop them off at John L. Scott Real Estate, attn: Dennis Deitch, 19723 10th Ave NE, Poulsbo.

One of the social events we look forward to is our Steak Night every October. You get a nice, big steak a Lion grills for you, a baked potato, salad and dessert. This year, Lion Sherri Burch arranged a trivia game called Cash Cab! Lots of fun.

Steak Night: A full meal deal

 

What happens at Steak Night stays at Steak Night! Lions Tom Stark and Dennis Tesch share an air smooch.

 

Chuck Weaver took on the task of preparing the steaks (and this is a picky group!). As usual, Poulsbo Lions gathered at the Masonic Hall in Port Gamble for the event. Behind Chuck are Tom Settle and Dennis Deitch.

A delicious evening of steak

 

Our annual Steak Night is a feast for the eyes, and one that signals the end of our calendar fund-raiser, with those Lions selling 20 or more calendars earning a free steak dinner. Our Poulsbo Lions met October 29 at the Masonic Hall in Port Gamble.

John MacDonald manned a second grill. These two have been cooking the steaks for years.

A not-so-rare social event: Steak Night!

Our club really enjoys Steak Night in Port Gamble every fall. There was a bit of rain, and a definite chill in the air. Above, Lions John MacDonald and Chuck Weaver cook the steaks on grills on the deck of the Masonic Lodge October 30.

It's good food and good fun every October when the Poulsbo Lions have their Steak Night. Every Lion who sold more than 20 community calendars gets the meal for FREE! Nobody goes home hungry because the steaks are huge, along with baked potatoes and green salad.

October programs announced

The following are Poulsbo Noon Lions Club programs scheduled for 12:15 p.m. lunch meetings at First Lutheran Church:

Oct. 4: Brad Johnson from Yank A Part, our partner in our used car sales;
Oct. 11: Suquamish historian
Oct. 18: Steak Night (in Port Gamble at the Masonic Hall), 6 p.m.
Oct. 25: PO1 Porter, USCG, and his drug dog.

Steak Night in October is always a great reward for a job well done selling our annual birthday calendars. This time around, under the leadership of Lion Larry, the Poulsbo Lions will net a little more than $2,500, and the calendars will be available this month.

Lion Beth organized the Steak Night at the Port Gamble Masonic Lodge, with help on the tables from Lion Lynnea, and help in the kitchen making salads and prepping the bread from Lion Karen. Lions Jay and Sandi brought the baked potatoes, Lion Jim S. picked up the steaks from Albertson's, and Lions Chuck and John grilled the meat. It was a fabulous meal!
