Another successful wash day

 

Here are June's Loads of Change numbers:

We spent $730 ($10 in Lion donations) serving 28 people who washed 187 loads and dried 115 loads for 55 people.

50 unhoused and low-income individuals helped with laundry

Poulsbo Lions spent $764 ($78 in Lions' donations) helping 50 people wash 170 loads and dry 130 loads Wednesday.

35 helped with laundromat service project

We helped 35 unhoused and low-income individuals yesterday at our monthly Loads of Change. It cost $533.50 (we received $27 in donations from Lions plus $32.25 from people using the laundromat, along with a donation of 2 bottles of bleach - thanks to our newest Lion, Pat).

 

We washed 118 loads (34 small, 12 medium, and 20 large), and dried 74 loads.

Thank you to Lions Ray McMahon, Lee Metcalf, Dennis Tesch and Terry Blais for their volunteering. And thanks Liz for helping to check people in and keeping track of the loads.

27 served at Village Laundromat for our latest Loads of Change

Poulsbo Lions spent $414 (we had $180 in Lions' donations plus $9 from a neighbor) paying for laundry Sept. 18 during our Loads of Change service project at the Village Laundromat.

We served 27 people, washing 100 loads and drying 62. Loads were calculated like this - large washer = 3 small loads; medium washer = 2 small loads; and of course the small washer is one load.

Many thanks to Ray and Ria McMahon, Terry Blais, Dennis Tesch, Lee Metcalf, Linda Prine and Gretchen Dunmire for volunteering their time to feed quarters into the machines, and help clients with laundry detergent and fabric softener.

Laundromat price increase

 

We helped 24 unhoused and low-income people wash 48 loads and dry 54 at our Loads of Change yesterday. Costs have increased at the Village Laundromat! We spent $410.50 ($40 of that were donations). Ray and Ria McMahon, and Terry Blais showed up, as well as Linda Prine and Lee Metcalf.

 We would love donations of detergent pods, vinegar and even snacks. They can be dropped off at John L. Scott Real Estate on 7th Avenue for Dennis Deitch or Pat Osler.

Clean laundry day is this Wednesday!

Help with getting clean laundry is here for the unhoused and low-income individuals in North Kitsap. This Wednesday, April 17, Poulsbo Lions will be at the Village Laundromat from 2-6 p.m. Your last load of dirty clothes should be in the washer by 5:30 p.m. so they'll have time to get in the dryer before we leave.
 

Service project helps 34 people with laundry

 

Dawn finishes folding her laundry at yesterday's Loads of Change. Poulsbo Lions spent $438.50 ($25.75 from Lions' donations and $7.50 from a man who donated his leftover change at the laundromat). We served 34 people, washing 72 loads and drying 75 loads.

 

Lions Ray and Ria McMahon were on hand as usual, with Terry Blais. Dennis Tesch and Lee Metcalf helped too.

 

Also, we found that Faith Episcopal (across from Taco Time) offers Fresh Start Mondays, where anyone in need can take a shower, do laundry and enjoy lunch in the parish hall. The church also offers clean clothes, hygiene items and food to go!

Lots of rain means more laundry for Loads of Change

We spent $632.50 ($45 in Lions donations) at today's Loads of Change, which benefits North Kitsap unhoused and low-income people.

We served 46 people, washing 103 loads and drying 114 loads at The Village Laundromat.

Poulsbo Lions spent $335 on 130 loads of laundry for at 23 people February 19. Lions helping out include Terry Blais, Carol Ryan, Dennis Tesch, Dave Risley, and Maria and Ray McMahon. Our next Loads of Change will be Fishline's March 4 Loads of Change from 2-6 pm.

Laundry project growing

Today's Loads of Change was our biggest yet. We helped 35 people with 128 loads of laundry for $329.50 at the Village Laundromat in the Poulsbo Village Shopping Center. Lions helping with the service project are Terry Blais, Carol Ryan and Dave Risley.

64 loads of laundry in October

 

 Our Lions Club helped 12 people with 64 loads of laundry to the tune of $197 and many donations of money, snacks and detergent. Lions feeding the machines quarters were Terry Blais, Carol Ryan and Dennis Tesch.

Loads of Change picking up speed

Today's Loads of Change helped 22 people and their families. We ran 105 loads in the washers and dryers at the cost of $290 (thanks to a few people who donated a total of $50). Special thanks to Lions Carol Ryan and Terry Blais, as well as Lion Dennis Tesch, who gave us an hour of his time! Our next laundry day is Oct. 18.

Reminder: free laundromat service for no- and low-income

New service project starts to help low- and no-income people with laundry

 

This is a new program we're starting to help those who are low-income or no-income with cleaning their laundry. We're starting with a 5-hour trial run Oct. 24. Please get the word out! We hope to do this on a monthly basis, as long as we have the funds.
