Smoked turkey leg booth brings in $3,500 in first year at Viking Fest

Our first sale of the day!

Vikings gotta have giant smoked turkey legs!

Lion Dan Holt takes charge of the bbq smoker.

Dan Holt's newest grandson is just about the same size as our turkey legs!

Dan Holt's two grandsons enjoy a cold banana with sprinkles.

Even princesses love our turkey legs!

A big appetite for a small gal.

Volunteers in our booth, Erin Scheunemann and Sylvie Blais, got a chance to enjoy our frozen bananas. They gave them a thumbs up!

You're not enjoying Viking Fest unless you have a turkey leg and frozen banana!

Dan Holt shows off our smoked turkey legs, which brought in $3,500 after the 3-day weekend. It was deemed a big success. We've already made plans to make it bigger in 2024!

Turkey legs run out as first-year booth succeeds

We ran out of turkey legs but we have frozen bananas for a buck till 6 pm, the end of Viking Fest! Thanks so much for your support. #gobblegobblegone #bananabuck #poulsbolions

Regan Vincent has been helping out in our smoked turkey leg booth and is sad we're out, but shows we still have frozen bananas!

Little people eat BIG!

Leo takes award and the gives one to advisor

Previously we had a photo of Emalee Burgh receiving the Leo of the Year award (LEO clubs' highest honor) at our spring conference. But Emalee, her LEO Club Advisor Stephen Nolet, and our Past Council Chairman Al Hedstrom came to our meeting last Thursday. Here's what Lion Al had to say about Emalee: "She's been the (NKHS) Leo club president for two years. The club did 20 projects this year and has more than 50 members! Emalee is part of Running Start and has a 4.0 gpa. She's won eight scholarship awards. Emalee has been on the Science Olympiad team for three years and plays 18U fastpitch for the Ospreys."
There are more than 200 LEOs in our district. Emalee has been a LEO for 7 years this September, and has helped the Poulsbo Lions with numerous projects such as Hooked on Fish, White Canes and the annual pancake breakfast. Lion Al presented Emalee with a certificate, medal and pin. She's one of our best and brightest!
Then Emalee turned around and awarded Nolet with an Outstanding Service Award as the Leo Club advisor. #LEOsrock #NKHS #Emalee #Leooftheyear #poulsbolions #LeoAward #WeServe
