Fishing derby is a go!

 Our Fishing Derby is ON for May 1 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.! This event is free for kids up to age 12. Bring a fishing pole if you have it. The Lions have some poles to lend, and will help with bait, bobbers, hooks and even clean any fish caught! Masks are required as this is at the Horticulture Pond by Poulsbo Middle School.

Tulips bring in beautiful funds for community help

 Many thanks to Valley Nursery and YOU for supporting our first potted tulips sale! We sold 503 potted tulips and raised approximately $4,000 to put back into the NK community and the tulips are GORGEOUS. Please support Valley Nursery. It truly made a difference.

 

 

More eyeglasses collected, cleaned and donated

 Lions Karl and Pauline Ostheller dropped off 577 pair of eyeglasses to LERC last week. These used glasses will be read, washed and sent to other countries where they'll be put to good use.

District governor hands out kindness awards

 District Governor Donna Murr (center) visited our club today and gave kindness awards to Steve Calhoun and Elda Armstrong (also our zone chair). Congrats to these wonderful Lions!

Hemmett earns LEO of the Year Award for our district

 Congrats to Michael Hemmett, president of NK High School Leo Club, who was awarded LEO of the Year for District C and is now in the running for LEO of the Year of MD19. Way to go!

Lions reach milestones

 It feels so good to be meeting again! These special Lions have reached chevron milestones (from left): Dennis Tesch, 35 years as a Lion, Chuck Weaver, 25 years, Elda Armstrong earned a centennial pin, and Tom Settle has been a Lion for 40 years!

15 families helped with 79 loads of laundry

The final numbers are in for Loads of Change today. We helped 15 people with 79 loads of laundry to the tune of $253.25. One woman using the laundromat donated $23. Thank you so much! And thanks to Lions Terry and Maria for feeding the quarters in the machine and making water, snacks, toiletries, scarves/socks/gloves available.

On January 20, we served 6 people with 16 loads of laundry for $60. Lions helping included Maria, Dave, Kelley and Terry.

Also new, Lion Maria will be in charge of Loads of Change starting with the next one on Weds., March 17.

New Fish Park areas planted by LEOs, Lions

 On February 6, the LEOs helped in the planting of the new Fish Park parking lot and boardwalk areas, along with Lions Elda Armstrong, Steve Calhoun and Karl Ostheller.
