Many Poulsbo Lions hit major milestones

These Poulsbo Lions have been Lions for a combined 165+ years! They recently received milestone chevrons - Elda Armstrong (25 years), Michelle Grenier (10), Andy Hento (45!), and Kent Lord (15). President Pat Osler (10) and Linda Schwind (15). And Scott Puhn hit 45 years also! These are amazing people and amazing Lions. You can be a Lion too!

Come to our next meeting Thursday from 12:15-1:15 pm at Vinland Lutheran Church, 2750 NW Finn Hill Rd, Poulsbo. Coffee and water are always available. #itsgreattobealion #poulsbolions #WeServe #milestones #chevrons

Lions reach milestones

 It feels so good to be meeting again! These special Lions have reached chevron milestones (from left): Dennis Tesch, 35 years as a Lion, Chuck Weaver, 25 years, Elda Armstrong earned a centennial pin, and Tom Settle has been a Lion for 40 years!

Blue vest and milestone awards handed out


Congrats to Ashley Jayroe on earning her blue vest so quickly! She's pictured with her sponsor, Karl Ostheller. Also today, Lions Karen Reitan and Larry Linn earned milestone chevrons for being Lions 10 years and 30 years, respectively. President Steve Calhoun is pictured with them.

Noon Lions give money, blue vest and milestone awards


Ida Courier, vice president for St. Vincent de Paul's, and Mike Deascentiis accept a $5,000 check from John Macdonald, who represents our Poulsbo Lions Raab Foundation Bellringer Fund.

Deascentiis said they served 71 clients (14 new) and helped with everything from power bills and rent to gas cards and nights in a hotel. St. Vincent also puts together Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets, as well as almost $1,500 in bus tokens.

St. Vincent de Paul will be celebrating 100 years in 2019!

 

Lion Diane Mayda was so happy to receive her blue vest today, especially with sponsor Kent Lord at her side.

Decades of service for group of Poulsbo Lions


This group of Lions has spent many years of their lives in service to others. Today they received honors for their years in Lions: (l to r) Pat Burch, 2nd vice district governor giving out the awards, Scott Puhn (40 years as a Lion), President John Macdonald, Andy Hento (40 years in Lions), Zone Chair Ginger Shields, Kent Lord (10 years as a Lion), and Lynnea Heerman (10 years as a Lion).

Also hitting milestones as Lions but not present at today's meeting: Elda Armstrong (20 years), Bob Springer (15 years), Dale Anderson (55 years), Warren Tytler (55 years), Jim Almond (40 years), Linda Schwind (10 years), and Kay Pursey (10 years). It's GREAT to be a Poulsbo Lion.
