New Miss West Sound is a Poulsbo Lion

 

 

Poulsbo Lion Emalee Burgh now wears the Miss West Sound crown!

Emalee received scholarship money at the Miss West Sound program Oct. 4 at the Central Kitsap High School auditorium. Lions Pat & Sherri Burch and Pauline & Karl Ostheller attended the event. The Poulsbo Lions provided a $1,000 scholarship to this program.

Our best and brightest receive $36,000 in scholarship awards

 

Our scholarship recipients were our program Thursday. They shared their future plans with us as well as a special fact about themselves.

Our club gave out $36,000 in scholarships this year - the most ever!

Epperson receives Lions scholarship

 

We're proud to present a Poulsbo Lions scholarship recipient - Grace Epperson. Grace was a 2022 Kingston High grad. Last year she studied in Finland. She is currently a junior at Montana State University studying criminology and global studies. Her goal is to give back to indigenous people. Go Grace!

Picnic offers scholarship, new Leo to Lion and so much more!

More picnic photos: we had the presentation of our last 2022-23 scholarship to Nara Deller, a fun time playing games (with winners Glenn, Tiffany, Audrey and Gil), Leo game managers Quinny and Dagny, Lion Pat cooking up burgers, and District Governor Lisa Ikeda with our newest Lions Emalee Burgh and the official cake. Fun times!

Gordon receives Lion scholarship

Epperson receives scholarship

 Poulsbo Lion and Leo Club Advisor Karl Ostheller presented Grace Epperson of Kingston High School with a scholarship check at our June 2 meeting. Epperson was a LEO Club member for four years. She said her favorite activity was handing out cookies and hot chocolate at the Port of Kingston around Christmas time. She is planning on attending Montana State University in environmental science.

 

Scholarship recipient Holmes only has 2 semesters left

 

Our fourth and last Poulsbo Lions Raab Foundation scholarship went to student Grace Holmes, who enters the home stretch at BYU-Hawaii where she only has two semesters to go before graduation. Grace is doing school on-line from her home in Poulsbo. Meanwhile she is working as a hospitality hostess at Harrison Hospital in Silverdale. #poulsbolions #weserve #scholarships

Kitnikone one of four scholarship recipient

Aranya Kitnikone picked up her Poulsbo Lions Raab Foundation scholarship check recently. Aranya is enrolled at the University of Washington and will be working on-line this fall quarter because of the virus as she begins her university career. Aranya was a Running Start student while attending NKHS these past two years. Meanwhile she continues to work at her parents' Thai restaurant (Sawan Thai) on Bainbridge. #poulsbolions #WeServe #scholarships

Scholarship, new Lion and Finnish exchange student

We had another scholarship recipient/Leo to Lion, as well as a Finnish exchange student at today's gathering. Recent Kingston High grad Chris Nardelli received his Poulsbo Lions scholarship check at today's meeting from Lion Karl Ostheller. Chris was the KHS Leo club president for 3 years and was named Leo of the Year 2 of those years! He's planning on attending Seattle University in the fall in film study. Also, Chris is taking advantage of the Leo to Lion program.

Club President Steve Calhoun looks on as Finnish exchange student Erica Costiander exchanges banners with our Lion Tamer Rick Wright. Erica has been staying for 2 weeks with Lion Elda Armstrong.

Lowney receives scholarship

 

PZC Karl Ostheller presents a scholarship check to Lion Darby Lowney. Darby is a student at the University of Washington. Proceeds from the Poulsbo Lions Viking Fest Pancake Breakfast fund the scholarships. Congratulations Darby!
