Picnic offers scholarship, new Leo to Lion and so much more!

More picnic photos: we had the presentation of our last 2022-23 scholarship to Nara Deller, a fun time playing games (with winners Glenn, Tiffany, Audrey and Gil), Leo game managers Quinny and Dagny, Lion Pat cooking up burgers, and District Governor Lisa Ikeda with our newest Lions Emalee Burgh and the official cake. Fun times!

Happy 18th birthday to Emalee Burgh (left) who was inducted as our third Leo to Lion by District Governor Lisa Ikeda.

Club picnic a rousing event

These are pictures from the Poulsbo Lions annual picnic this past Thursday. The evening included an induction of a Leo-to-Lion Emalee Burgh into the Poulsbo Lions Club, the presentation of our last 2022-23 scholarship to Nara Deller, lots of good food, and a fun time with the chicken corn-hole game.
These pictures include Zone Chair Pat and Sherri Burch (in charge of cooking corn), Lions Dori Swokowski and Pauline Ostheller, VDG2 Bob Johnson and friend, Leo leaders Audrey Crossgrove and Tiffany Le (cornhole champs!).

August 25 is a picnic, not a meeting

Nelson Park will once again be the venue of our annual Poulsbo Lions Club picnic on Thursday, Aug. 25, at 5 p.m. The picnic is a fun time of gathering socially with Lions and their families. Bring a prospective Lion to show what fun our club has in a social setting!

The cost is $10 per family, which covers park rental and the cost of the hot dogs/hamburgers/buns and soft drinks. The rest is potluck, so bring a favorite dish to share! A sign-up sheet is going around at our Thursday meeting.

Annual club picnic Aug. 12

It's time for the Poulsbo Lions Club picnic at Nelson Park on Aug. 12 at 5 p.m.

Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided, as will soft drinks. The rest of the meal is potluck. Plan to bring a salad, dessert or other side dish. With any luck, Lion Dick Prine will get corn on the cob from Central Market.

Email Sandi Dahlquist at jay-sandi@wavecable.com is you'd like to go and haven't been to a meeting lately. We need a head count for shopping purposes (thanks to Dennis Deitch for volunteering as shopper!).

Prine wins Hillbilly Horseshoes Golden Plunger

And the Golden Plunger trophy goes to.... (drum roll, please).... Lion Dick Prine! Prine earned the special plunger AND a Whoopee cushion for his first-place finish in Hillbilly Horseshoes (toilet seats instead of horseshoes) during the Poulsbo Lions Club annual club picnic at Nelson Park Thursday, August 25.

Our annual club picnic features hamburgers and hotdogs, corn on the cob and whatever everybody else contributes!

Bev Puhn wins Hillbilly Horseshoe game and toilet brush

Our Poulsbo Noon and Evening Lions picnic was tonight at Nelson Park with about 70 people attending. Got to be in my first Hillbilly Horseshoe game, basically throwing toilet seats at plungers like ...horseshoes. Guest speaker was Annika Hald who was sponsored as an Exchange to Germany to be with a family for a week, then 2 weeks at Lions Camp with 24 other countries.

Lion Tom Settle grabbed second-place honors at Hillbilly Horseshoes.
