Latest harvest pushes ShareNet veggie donation over 800 pounds

ShareNet Food Bank has a colorful and tasty vegetable stand. We took in 65 lbs of garlic, squash, tomatoes, mini peppers, beans, celery and chard this morning. That puts us at 805 lbs of veggies donated to ShareNet this year!

Another 30 lbs for the hungry

Lion Lee Metcalf stopped by the Firehouse Garden yesterday before an appointment so we put him to work hoeing weeds! We also harvested 30 lbs of celery, squash, cucumbers and tomatoes, delivering it early to ShareNet for the freshest veggies ever.

Add another 60 pounds of veg for food bank

The Firehouse Garden produced another 60 lbs of squash, Swiss chard, lettuce and cucumbers for ShareNet today. The garden is planted and maintained by Poulsbo Evening Pride Branch Club Lions, with help from Poulsbo Noon Lions.
It takes hours of planning, planting, transplanting, watering, weeding and harvesting THEN taking it to ShareNet Food Bank. PEP Lion Rob Ratcliff has headed up the effort for many years now, doing a fantastic job!

More seeds started for Firehouse Garden

Cauliflower and broccoli seeds have officially been started! Rob Ratcliff (center) will take care of them until they're big enough and it's warm enough outside. Also helping were Dave Risley, Terry Blais and Sylvie Blais (photographer).
