Final tally for ShareNet: 1,399 lbs of veggies donated

 


Poulsbo Lions have delivered 1,399 lbs of organic veggies from our Firehouse Garden to ShareNet this year... Our best by 300+ pounds! Rob Ratcliff has already planted more veggies to winter over so we can have much more next year for ShareNet.
 
Special thanks to volunteer Sylvie Blais for all of her hours and to Rob for his countless hours of planning and preparation that made this garden a huge success.

Veggies found in foggy Firehouse Garden

35 pounds of tomatoes, broccoli, spinach, arugula, celery, eggplant, kale, chard, and carrots were harvested and taken to ShareNet Food Bank from our Firehouse Garden this foggy morning.

Rob Ratcliff has been adding compost and readying the garden for new seeds. He's really committed to growing organic veggies for those in need.

Firehouse Garden tops 1,300 lbs for ShareNet Food Bank

 

A 55-pound picking this morning puts our Firehouse Garden over the 1,300-pound mark for organic veggies donated to ShareNet Food Bank - a new record!
 
Today, we took in the last of the delicate squash, carrots, celery, kale, chard, tomatoes, arugula, broccoli, and our lone watermelon.

72 pounds of organic veggies fills shelves at ShareNet

 

It may be October, but our Firehouse Garden is still full of healthy, organic vegetables.


This morning, Rob, Terry and Sylvie harvested 72 lbs of carrots, celery, kale, chard, tomatoes, cabbage, string beans, squash, arugula, and broccoli for ShareNet Food Bank clients.

Flowers to attract bees

54 lbs of carrots, celery, kale, egg plant, tomatoes, cabbage, mini peppers, string beans, zucchini and squash were harvested and delivered this morning to Lydia at ShareNet.
 
Rob, Terry and Sylvie cleaned up a few rows, as well, to ready them for garlic and other things that can tolerate the cold of winter.

Firehouse Garden producing quality organic produce for food bank

 

Poulsbo Lions drove 55 lbs of veggies to ShareNet Tuesday morning. The Firehouse Garden is still growing loads of tomatoes, some are the size of saucers!), celery, kale, broccoli, arugula, string beans and more! Still to harvest - lots of squash.

It's getting nippy, but our Firehouse Garden is still producing. We took 35 lbs of tomatoes, eggplant, mini peppers, broccoli, celery, chard, carrots, and Asian pears to ShareNet this morning.

1,000 pounds of organic veggies benefit ShareNet

 

We hit 1,000 lbs of fresh, organic veggies donated with today's 52-lb harvest we delivered to ShareNet!
52 lbs of tomatoes, musk melon, eggplant, mini peppers, broccoli, kale, and Asian pears from our Firehouse Garden brings our total to 1,003 lbs. And there is plenty more!

Tomatoes and melons and eggplants... oh my!

 

It was a beautiful day in the Firehouse Garden as Poulsbo Lions harvested 40 lbs of organic veggies and took them to ShareNet Food Bank.
 
We're waiting on the squash, but we had plenty of tomatoes, a couple musk melons, eggplants, a box of onions, some mini peppers, chard, broccoli, snap peas, cucumber, celery, cabbage, kale, and sweet basil.
