Lions is kindness in action. When caring people roll up their sleeves to serve, communities grow stronger. For 84 years, the Poulsbo Lions have supported North Kitsap — from vision screenings and flags to laundry service and fresh‑grown veggies. Our fourth and last Poulsbo Lions Raab Foundation scholarship went to student Grace Holmes, who enters the home stretch at BYU-Hawaii where she only has two semesters to go before graduation. Grace is doing school on-line from her home in Poulsbo. Meanwhile she is working as a hospitality hostess at Harrison Hospital in Silverdale. #poulsbolions #weserve #scholarships
Poulsbo Evening Pride Lion Rob Radcliff has worked hard on the Firehouse Garden, with help from other Lions. #poulsblions #WeServe #firehousegarden
For our August 19 Loads of Change, we served 13 people/families, doing 69 loads of laundry to the tune of $221.25. Thanks to Lions Terry Blais and Kelley Vincent for feeding the quarters into the machines and bringing snacks and water. As always, donations of money, detergent, fabric softener, snacks and socks, etc. are always welcome.
Poulsbo Lion and student Ashley Jayroe picked up her scholarship check recently. She is still enrolled with Western Washington with only 2 more quarters to go to graduate. She will be working on-line this fall quarter because of the coronavirus. Meanwhile she continues to work at Old Navy. Our club is fortunate to have the funds from our Poulsbo Lions Raab Foundation. #poulsbolions #scholarships #WeServe
