Add radishes to the list of veggies we pick

Another 35 lbs of veggies have been delivered to ShareNet, just in time judging by the long line of cars with clients waiting.
We harvested radishes, broccoli, cucumbers, celery, kale, red lettuce and even picked a pint of blackberries!
Our garden is really growing! Check out Rob by the beans. And the gorgeous sunflower!

Hot weather for Loads of Change this week

It's gonna be toasty tomorrow during our monthly clean laundry day! So bring a beverage and a good attitude because the laundromat is NOT air conditioned! As usual, several Poulsbo Lions will be on hand to put in quarters. Just make sure your last load of wash has been started by 5:30 if you want us to cover the dryer cost.

Silver City Restaurant helps kids with Type 1 diabetes

Silver City Restaurant office manager Robbi Perez gave a check for $2,449 to Joyce Walters, executive director of Type 1 United for Camp Leo at our meeting Thursday.

Camp Leo is the only overnight camp for kids aged 7-17 with Type 1 diabetes. They learn how to manage their disease, as well as meet other kids who have it.

In June, Silver City asked patrons to round up their checks, with the change benefitting Camp Leo. The restaurant also contributed $1,000.

Lions clubs in Western Washington have been long-time supporters Camp Leo.

Even dogs like our veggies

We took in 23 lbs of broccoli, red lettuce, 2 cucumbers, chard and lots of celery to ShareNet this morning.
Lydia fluffed the veggies while her dog grabbed a piece of chard to snack on.

Moving sale earns laundry money

Our very own Lion Steve is moving far, far away and donating a portion of his Moving Far Away Sale to our Loads of Change laundry project for the unhoused and needy. He's got some great stuff to sell! Just remember NOT to show up early.
