After all expenses of the fund-raiser were paid, $9,600+ was left to distribute.
At the first board meeting, it was agreed to send $1,000 to LCIF - designating it for Philippines disaster relief and counting toward our club's Melvin Jones Fellowship award. Another $500 was donated to EMPACT Northwest, a group of local firefighters who went to the Philippines to help with disaster relief. And $1,000 was given to the Poulsbo Police Department to help pay for a heroin-sniffing dog the department has acquired.
At the second special board meeting, the following disbursements were agreed upon:
- $1,700 added to the Hearing Aids fund
- $3,500 put in reserve
- $1,000 to help Fishline move into its new building on Viking Avenue
- $1,000 for a Poulsbo symphony orchestra (if it indeed does form)
- $500 for Sound Works
