Pulling in bigger numbers for White Canes

Lions from Poulsbo Noon and Evening Pride were out in force for White Cane Days May 3 and 4 around North Kitsap. Even the weather cooperated, giving us a hot and sunny days. Above, a woman puts money in a jar held by new Lion Janetmarie Valiga at the post office.

Lion Pat Burch put in his time at the Poulsbo Albertson's. A total of 37 Lions worked over the two days, with 32 of them on the streets. Five staffed the office and provided support while counting the cash. The average collected per Lion was $127.63, with a grand total of $3,957.53. That's an increase of more than 40 percent over 2012, when we had 25 Lions out collecting.
